LactMed - A database on drugs and lactation
LactMed is part of the U.S. National Library of Medicine’s database, TOXNET system.  The target audience aim is nursing mothers and healthcare practitioners. Over 450 medications and chemicals are included.  

Medline – The U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM) “premier bibliographic database” includes medical citations and abstracts.

Increasingly, PubMed Central offers many of the cited articles for free.

MedlinePlus – “the up-to-date, trusted health information site from the NIH and the National Library of Medicine.”
