Terri Marin, PhD, NNP-BC
Terri Marin, PhD, NNP-BC, is an assistant professor at Emory University with experience as a nurse and neonatal purse practitioner for more than 20 years. Her clinical research expertise is on perfusion studies using near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) technology in human infant investigations during and subsequent to packed red blood cell transfusions. In her studies, she identified correlations between events associated with transfusions given to preterm infants and the impact on tissue oxygenation of cerebral, mesenteric, and renal beds. In her studies, she also analyzed how perfusion patterns of infants who developed transfusion-related necrotizing enterocolitis differed compared to infants who did not.
